This bridge was closed to traffic in 2001 and bypassed and abandoned in 2005. The new bridge is right next to the historic bridge. This bridge is a great example of the typical details of the Wrought Iron Bridge Company, especially since it illustrates both through and pony truss forms. Some of the truss members were damaged (likely by vehicles) with welded repairs made, including replacing a section of pony truss top chord with a section of top chord salvaged from another bridge. This is evident because the welded section of top chord has an extra unused pin hole.
