This is a relatively early example of a pre-stressed concrete bridge. The plaque mentions that the bridge was built with the cooperation of the Grand Trunk Western Co. These tracks are long-abandoned, and in fact the US-23 expressway nearby does not have an overpass at all for the grade anymore.
