Bridge Documentation

This bridge is a relatively late example of a suspension bridge with heritage value. Despite its construction date, the traditionally composed bridge still has details that might be seen in older bridges such as the use of visually attractive v-lacing on the built-up beams of the stiffening truss. The bridge has an unusual design in that the bridge has two suspended spans, rather than the traditional three or one. In this bridge, one of the spans that runs from a tower to the abutments is suspended, while the equivilent span at the other end is not suspended. The bridge has one sidewalk, and this sidewalk has attractive railings that follow a standard design seen in a number of Canadian provinces.
