This small bridge with relatively large paneled concrete railings is an example of a design sometimes employed on rural roads in Michigan. The bridge is located on a road that runs at an angle (most Michigan roads follow a grid pattern). Clinton Trail, although broken apart into separated segments today, appears to be the remnant of a very old continuous trail that may have been an early Jackson to Grand Rapids route.
