This highly unusual bridge is one of the very few highway deck truss bridges remaining in Michigan. It serves an old alignment of Huron River Drive. It is now closed to vehicular traffic, but you can still walk on it. The bridge features an eight panel main truss span. Just as noteworthy are the beautiful concrete approach spans, which feature an arch design to them and add greatly to the high level of beauty present in this bridge's intricate design. As a rare example of a deck truss, and one that features unusual concrete approach spans, this is a very rare structure and should be maintained and preserved. The bridge appeared in the 1918 Biennial Report for the Michigan State Highway Department, so a construction date of ca. 1917-1918 is assumed.
