This is a relatively old concrete t-beam bridge that is located on old alignment for PA-21. The structure appears to retain good historic integrity and includes original paneled railings. It is a good representative example of the structure type.

Information and Findings From Pennsylvania's Historic Bridge Inventory

Discussion of Bridge

The ca. 1925, single span T beam bridge with paneled parapets is supported on concrete abutments with wingwalls. The bridge is moderately spalling at the fascia beams, where the steel reinforcement is exposed. The bridge is an example of a very common bridge type that was used with great frequency beginning in the 1910s and continuing through the 1950s.

Discussion of Surrounding Area

The bridge carries a 2 lane road over a stream in a sparsely developed, forested setting on a bypassed section of SR 21.
