Bridge Documentation

This is one of two pony truss bridges that can be found on this road, which leads on and off a small island in the river. This bridge is a two-span structure, while the other bridge is a single span. This bridge is unusual because the two spans are not identical, one span is just slightly larger than the other span. Lengths given are extremely rough estimates. The northwestern span is the larger span (five panels) and appears to be about an 80 foot span, while the smaller span (four panels) is estimated at 55 feet. The bridge includes beautiful cast iron railing posts at the ends of the bridge, but sadly, some are broken. The concrete abutments and piers of this bridge appear to rest on exposed rock.
