This bridge is a small concrete bridge with attractive railings. Located on a curve in the roadway, which is banked, this bridge is lower at one end than the other. The low end gets all the runoff from the road, often with salt in it, and so is in much worse condition. In contrast, the railing on the high end is in pristine condition. The design of the railings are both attractive and unusual, utilizing a design not yet seen elsewhere.
Often with these smaller bridges, the idea of restoration is overlooked. As small bridges their historic significance is called into question. However, the small size of this bridge would make its restoration easy and inexpensive. Allegan County instead essentially ruined the bridge sometime between 2005 and 2006 and covered the attractive railings up with modern railings, which effectively destroyed the aesthetic value of the bridge. No repairs were done to the bridge either.
