This is an excellent example of a small concrete camelback bridge. Libhart Creek actually has a slight valley to it here and this bridge is at the bottom of that. The bridge crosses right next to a spot where the creek makes a sharp bend.
This bridge is one of two remaining concrete camelback bridges in Ionia County, the other one being on Borden Road. This bridge is in overall good condition, better in fact than Borden Road Bridge. Like Borden Road, there was no posted weight limit for the David Road Bridge. The bridge features unusual abutment design, as the abutments have these lines cast into them, apparently as an architectural supplement. There is spalling damage on the south side of the western abutment due to road water draining off there. The deck of the bridge has been paved over, which may at first make one think that it protects the deck. But this is not always the case, as doing this often will trap moisture in the concrete deck which causes even more problems.
This bridge had a plaque on it which provided some information on the bridge. The bridge was built as a State Reward Bridge in 1928. The contractor for the bridge was West and Barden.
