Dams, since they span the entire width of a river, often end up also serving some sort of roadway or path across the top. Although this bridge is gated off today, it appears to have once served pedestrian traffic. The dam is old, and the arch shapes on them, as well as the balustrade railings, match other bridges seen in Flint and provide an aesthetic quality to the structure.
