This bridge is a good representation of an early Michigan standard plan concrete girder bridge. Early standard bridge plans were not quite as standard as plans today. Each bridge still managed to be a little bit different than the next back in these days. The Michigan Historic Bridge Inventory gives a construction date of 1916 for this bridge. If the construction date is correct, this is an extremely old example of the structure type. Most date to the 1920s.
