This bridge is a variation of the standard Michigan concrete girder plan. Early standard bridge plans were not quite as standard as plans today, and they changed from year to year or with structure size. Each bridge still managed to be a little bit different than the next back in these days, even in the early years of standardized bridge design. This bridge sits next to the small Smiths Creek Railroad Bridge, which is an undistinguished deck plate girder. The Michigan historic bridge inventory gives a 1922 construction date for this bridge. The bridge is posted at a 16-36-77 ton weight limit.
