Key Facts
Bridge Name Facility Carried / Feature Intersected Location Structure Type Construction Date / Builder or Contractor
St. Clair Parkway Bridge St. Clair Parkway (CR-33) Over Clay Creek Rural: Lambton County, Ontario Concrete Rigid-Frame, Stationary 1965 By: Unknown

This bridge is a relatively new bridge for this website with a 1965 construction date, but it is a good example of a common historic bridge design in Ontario that is no longer used today. This is a rigid-frame bridge, and its design, was used with frequency in Ontario. In comparison, this design never really took off in neighboring Michigan, and only a handful of examples remain in the state. One example that remains and is featured on this website is on M-28 and is strikingly similar to the design of Ontario's bridges. It is unknown if Michigan or Ontario based their design off of the other or not.
