This impressive bascule bridge has tall trusses and is also narrower and older than the 95th Street Bridge which although it is wider, didn't have the cool "tall trusses" feeling to it. But if you think those trusses feel tall, check out the 106th Street Bridge!
This is one of the nicer Calumet River bascule bridges, and is less busy than some of the others, yet still carries a fair amount of traffic.
The Ketler-Elliott Company constructed the superstructure, while the Fitzsimons and Connell Company constructed the substructure.
