This bridge was being redone when I visited it. The deck had been completely removed, revealing the earthen fill of the bridge. Also a noteworthy observation was that the railings were gone. This calls into question the originality of the railings on other rehabilitated bridges in the county. Indiana is known for building new bridges with railings that look slightly historic. If they have indeed replaced the railings on the other arch bridges in this county, it would call into question the true historic significance of those structures, as railings are an important part of the original appearance of the bridge. It makes one wonder whether the new railings they put on the bridge look anything at all like the original railings. If they are unlike the original, that would be grounds for severely reduced historic significance for the bridge.

This bridge has a 48 degree skew, which is quite a heavy skew.
