This bridge has the tallest arches of the South Bend bridges, and as a result is a very impressive structure. It is also one of the few bridges to feature open spandrels. This bridge also features decorative pedestals on the deck that are integrated into the pier design. The most unfortunate alteration to this bridge was the replacement of the railings with modern metal railings that do not compliment the design of the bridge.
