While southern New Jersey has relatively few metal truss bridges, northern New Jersey has a large population. Hunterdon County has one of the largest number of old and historic metal truss bridges in the entire country for any single county and they have a good preservation track record as well. There are a number of nationally significant historic bridges located in New Jersey.
