Southwestern Ontario is a major coverage area for Historicbridges.org. Ontario has a fair number of truss bridges, but pin connected truss bridges are few in number. Their truss bridges are often on busy roads as opposed to rural dirt roads. Most southwestern Ontario truss bridges date from the 1910s on. There are many Welland Canal Bridges featured on this website, which is in Niagara Region. Finally, note that there are some bridges from Algoma District, which surrounds Sault Ste. Marie in northern Ontario. There has been a marked increased in the number of heritage bridge demolition plans since 2008.

Note: Due to the physical size of Ontario, the clickable maps are divided into two sections. Immediately below, you will find southern Ontario, where most of the coverage is.
