This bridge is among the older of the US-23 expressway overpasses, and with original railings with no modern additions, the bridge retains a good deal of historic integrity. A weight limit is posted for the bridge, and as such, repairs or demolition. Even simple repairs would likely affect the historic integrity of this bridge, as modern railings would likely be bolted onto the historic railings. This is unfortunate, because it carries a lightly traveled road, and would be a good candidate for restoration with attention paid to historic integrity.
