Key Facts |
| Bridge Name | Facility Carried / Feature Intersected | Location | Structure Type | Construction Date / Builder or Contractor |
| McAlpin Road Driveway Bridge | Private Driveway Over Columbia Drain | Rural: Huron County, Michigan | Metal Pinned Pratt Half-Hip Pony Truss, Stationary | 0 By: Unknown |
This small bridge once served a farmland access drive, but today its deck is long gone, and the south abutment is tipping forward into the drain. The truss bridge has remained stationary, while the abutment moved forward. As a result, the feet of the bridge are suspended in the air, and the deck stringers are actually laying on the abutment now.
Although the builder is unconfirmed, the style of the plaque suggests that, like some of the Huron County truss bridges, this bridge was associated with Massillon Bridge Company and/or Agents Wynkoop and McGormley.
Cambria steel stamps are present on the bridge. There is unusual connection details with lateral bracing under the deck. Lattice railings remain on the bridge. V-lacing is present on the verticals.
