This bridge is a heavily altered bridge. It was originally a railroad bridge and is today a rail-trail bridge. The entire substructure appears to have been rebuilt with the original riveted steel deck plate girders placed back on top. The structure is of interest because one of the spans is a variable depth deck plate girder, which suggests the bridge may have originally been a swing bridge. However with the substructure completely rebuilt, there is no evidence to support that theory. Another possibility is that the railroad reused a railroad turntable to act as a span here.
