| Wiscoggin Drain Private Bridge | Private Trail Over Wiscoggin Drain | Rural: Tuscola County, Michigan | Metal Pinned Pratt Half-Hip Pony Truss, Stationary | 0 By: Unknown |
This bridge is a thee panel structure, with decent panel length. The bottom chord and some diagonals have twisted considerably, which could have occurred from a number of problems. It could be from abutment rotation, or perhaps someone drove something too heavy across the bridge when it still had a deck. Otherwise, the structure is in fair condition, and someone could restore the bridge if they wanted, at least for pedestrian use. The bridge's deck is missing, and was likely originally wood. The abutments are concrete.
If these private bridges are still standing years down the road, and someone finally wonders if perhaps some of the truss bridges should be preserved, perhaps the owners of these bridges will be able to sell or donate these bridges for preservation elsewhere.
