Views of bridge from southwest quadrant.
Various portal views looking north.
Portal views on bridge looking north.
I climbed up a bit for this view. Pardon the slight tilting of the camera, I am not a real acrobat up in the air! I was only about half-way to the top of the bridge, but the perspective is quite a bit different from here. I am looking northeast in this photo.
Portal views looking south.
I wish the truck were not present in these photos... otherwise these are some of the nicest photos I could get of this bridge, which show both the portal and the mighty polygonal truss arching above it all. The first photo in this section turned out the best, as I was able to cut most of the truck out of the photo. In general, these are taken facing south.
Some local kids take some snacks over to the park, unknowingly demonstrating why this bridge should have been preserved for pedestrian traffic. I think this photo looks neat because it highlighted the bridge's large and complex design.
View of eastern truss from north end of bridge.
Looking up on panel to the right of of mid-span. Facing east.
Looking up at mid-span. Facing east.
View looking northeast on bridge.
Zooms on various v-laced and latticed members and bracing.
Views of the bridge from southeast quadrant, in the park adjacent to the bridge. The last two were taken on an early cloudy morning. The first two were from my sunny evening visit (when most of my photos were taken). The sun was not all that good for this position on either day.
Cloudy morning photos from the new Blue Rock Slab bridge. I am facing west in these photos.
