Key Facts
Bridge Name Facility Carried / Feature Intersected Location Structure Type Construction Date / Builder or Contractor
Norfolk Southern Cuyahoga River Bridge   Railroad (Norfolk Southern) Over Cuyahoga River Cleveland: Cuyahoga County, Ohio Metal Riveted Parker Through Truss, Vertical Lift 0 By Unknown

This bridge's main vertical lift span is alone an impressive and historic structure. However, this bridge also features an extremely long approach spans to the east of the vertical lift that allow the line to act as an elevated rail line for a short time, as it curves and passes under the nearby expressway bridge. The highlight of this approach system is a skewed warren through truss with riveted connections. In addition, a non-skewed warren through truss with riveted connections is provides a westerly approach to the structure. In turn, a through plate girder overpass provides a westerly approach to this truss span.

This bridge is historically significant as a noteworthy construction achievement, due to the combined length of the bridge.
