This is a beautiful example of the rainbow arch structure type. The technical name is a concrete bowstring arch bridge. They are a very attractive bridge design, and among the most impressive of concrete bridge types. This is a good example of the structure type, having retained historic integrity, with no railing or floor beam modifications. There is however some structural deterioration under the bridge, although the arch and railings above are fine. If Wood County actually cared about preserving their historic bridges (which they don't) then you might see the flooring system on this bridge replaced in a few years. Instead I fear you will see dynamite strapped to this bridge in a few years, since I wouldn't be surprised if Wood County decides to reduce this bridge to rubble.
