I don't know who thinks up these crazy road names in Ohio. Apparently they were hungry for breakfast when they named this road!
For a single span pin connected Pratt through truss bridge, this structure is of decent length. Its long length, which usually results in higher trusses, combine with a narrow deck width to form one of those bridges that has that cool tall and narrow feeling. This bridge is composed of nine panels yielding a total structure length of 142 feet. Although the builder plaque obviously was stolen, the Penn Bridge Company is clearly associated with this bridge. The Penn Bridge Company was a company that really took aesthetic design of its bridges right down to the tiniest detail. Their bridges often feature little medallion-like rivets on the portal bracing that feature various designs or say "PENN" on them. This bridge has those decorations, and in addition, those rivets even appear on the railings! Despite the bad weather while at this bridge, I got an excellent photo of one of these railing decorations, which is in the photo gallery.
