| Rock Creek Cemetery Bridge | Truss | Abandoned Roadway | Ashtabula County, OH | Rock Creek | Rock Creek |
This bridge is like an un-skewed, pin connected version of the Callender Road Bridge's main span. I am unsure if this bridge might be built by the Riverside Bridge company as I discuss on that page or not. The large lattice portal bracing and unusual presence of v-lacing on the top and bottom sides of the top chord/ end post are what make them similar. The Rock Creek Bridge is a six panel pin connected Pratt through truss. It retains original lattice railings and a wooden deck. There is v-lacing also present on the verticals and sway bracing. Steel on the bridge was fabricated by Cambria. The bridge is seated o concrete abutments, which have deteriorated severely, and is slowly falling away from the bridges north side feet. The bridge may eventually collapse it nothing is done. Corrective action should be taken as soon as possible to save this bridge, which is in an peaceful cemetery area, and would continue to be a visual asset to the beauty of the cemetery. But knowing Ashtabula County, the likelihood of preserving a non-wooden covered bridge is slim. While they have preserved some truss bridges, they definitely do not care to preserve them all, despite how unique each one is.
