Key Facts
Bridge Name Facility Carried / Feature Intersected Location Structure Type Construction Date / Builder or Contractor
Cuyahoga Viaduct   Railroad (RTA Rapid Transit) Over Cuyahoga River Cleveland: Cuyahoga County, Ohio Metal Riveted Pennsylvania Through Truss, Stationary 0 By: Unknown

This bridge is a very large high-level structure that features an extensive approach system, including a deck truss span next to the main span. The main span however is itself one of Cleveland's most impressive structures, as an impressive Pennsylvania truss structure. An extremely wide bridge, this main span features three truss webs to support this width, which allows for as many as four sets of railroad tracks. Only two are in use, on one side of the bridge however. As such, Cleveland should consider opening the other side of the bridge for non-motorized use so that people can enjoy this bridge up close.
