I cannot imagine how inexpensive it would be to restore a bridge as small as this one for the light vehicular traffic present on this road. Preble County however, in their stupidity, has begun planning to demolish this bridge. Once again, Preble County provides a perfect example for the existence of my website. There are a number of wooden covered bridges in the county, and unsurprisingly all are preserved with no demolitions planned. But when it comes to metal truss bridges, all they seem to get are the bulldozer. This discrimination infuriates me, especially with a bridge like this where it would not cost much to restore it.
This bridge is a small Warren pony truss. It features riveted connections. The deck is concrete with an asphalt wearing surface. The bridge retains original lattice guardrails. There is narrow v-lacing on the vertical members.
