I found this bridge just by chance whilst on the way to the Owens Road Bridge. It is one of the most significant random finds I have ever made, since it is a rare example of a bowstring truss bridge, and likely dates to the 1870s. An aggressive dog and time restrictions discouraged me from knocking on the door to see if the owners would give me any information about this bridge. I hope the owners realize what a treasure this bridge is! To own a bowstring bridge is to own the one of the rarest general bridge types in the country. This once-common structure type has been all but wiped off the face of the earth by uncaring government road agencies.
I am not sure what bridge company might have fabricated this bridge. Although I have seen another bridge that features a top chord and vertical members with it, that bridge did not have a builder listed.
