This bridge does not have the appearance of other Morse Bridge Company Bridges I have seen, such as the bridge in Port Jefferson also in Shelby County. It is indeed the work of the company though, as the plaque indicates on the bridge.
This bridge is a two span pin connected Pratt through truss bridge. Each span has nice panels to it. There is v-lacing on the vertical members of the bridge. I located a Carnegie stamp on the members of the bridge. The deck of the bridge is currently a corrugated steel base with an asphalt wearing surface. The portal bracing on the bridge is a plate steel design with decorative designs in it. The abutments for the bridge were stone, but the pier was stone with a bunch of concrete added to it.
One might think that although it is still open to traffic that this is a bypassed bridge when you see its proximity to an ugly slab bridge. However, it appears although the roads have been separate corridors of travel for some time. A memorial plaque neat the slab showed a 1933 three span deck plate girder bridge near the truss bridge. The loss of the deck plate girder is unfortunate, however better it than this truss bridge!
