Black Bridge Clark Street (30th Sideroad) Over Beaver River Clarksburg: Grey County, Ontario Concrete Through Arch, Stationary 1923 By: C. Mattaini 1991

Thanks to Scott Steeves for visiting and photographing this historic bridge.

This impressive structure is a beautiful example of a concrete bowstring arch bridge, also called a rainbow arch bridge. It features decorative designs along the arch. The bridge retains original concrete fence railings. A sidewalk is present on one side of the bridge. The span is a relatively long one, accounting for the tall arches and presence of overhead bracing on the bridge. The bridge is rare and significance due to this; most spans were shorter and did not feature overhead bracing.
