Key Facts |
Bridge Name | Type | Road | Location | City | Crossing |
| King's Highway 40 Bear Creek Bridge | Concrete | King's Highway 40 | Chatham-Kent Region, ON | Rural | Big Creek |
This bridge looks similar from the road to other rigid-frame design bridges along this section of King's Highway 40. However a closer inspection of this bridge reveals that it is a two-span bridge and that the design of the beams does not feature a smooth arch shape. The shape of the beams is similar to those seen on old t-beam bridges. I am not sure if this bridge would still be classified as a rigid-frame or if it could be called a t-beam. This bridge is also the largest of the bridges along this section of highway, and is the only one that crosses a creek other than Big Creek.
