This is one of several multi-span arch bridges in Elkhart, Indiana. It has been painted and almost looks brand new. The bridge was constructed in 1926. M. E. White Co. from Chicago were the contractors for the bridge. Although I applaud the maintenance of any historic bridge, including this one, I find myself wondering why the same is not done for metal truss bridges. I noticed new bridges in Elkhart that I was suspicious were replacements for truss bridges. If so, this would be an unfair discrimination.
