| Romeo Railroad Bridge | Plate Girder | Railroad (CN, Now Rail-Trail) | Macomb County, MI | Rural (Near Romeo) | Clinton River North Branch |
This railroad once carried CN railroad, but the tracks have since been removed, and the bridge is now a rails to trails bridge. The trail has been named the Macomb Orchard Trail, and is still being developed in many places, including this one. The original railroad deck is still here, minus the tracks, and no guardrails are present on the bridge. The only time guardrails are usually ever on a railroad bridge in Michigan is if there is a walkway added by the railroad company. The only other time is when a rails-to-trails organization adds them, which I assume will happen to this bridge eventually. I hope that a railing style is selected that will minimalize the impact on the historic integrity of the bridge.
