The small town of Vernon irritated me greatly, since I went well out of my way to visit this town, in the hopes that their 1892 thorugh truss bridge, listed in the historic bridge inventory, would still be standing. Instead I found one of those insidious slabs there, and a sign even giving the stupid slab some a memorial bridge name of some sort! The only unusual bridge I found in town was this small through plate girder. The bridge is on an abounded railroad, although it sits next to another set of tracks which are still used. Oddly, the other set does not cross this drain, because the drain then travels between the two sets of tracks, which eventually head off in different directions to the South.
