This bridge is a historically intact example of a concrete deck arch overpass in Pennsylvania. It is located in an attractive location on a road that carries traffic down into Wampum. The structure appears to be in good condition.
Information and Findings From Pennsylvania's Historic Bridge InventoryDiscussion of Bridge The 50'-long, closed spandrel reinforced concrete elliptical deck arch bridge, built in 1930, has paneled concrete parapets. The reinforced concrete deck arch gained popularity quickly in the 1900s and was used with great frequency in Pennsylvania on local and county roads in the 1910s. There are better, and earlier, examples in the survey population. Neither the bridge nor its setting are historically or technologically significant.
