Key Facts
Bridge Name Facility Carried / Feature Intersected Location Structure Type Construction Date / Builder or Contractor
West Park Bridge Abandoned Path Over Railroad (Norfolk Southern) Pittsburgh: Allegheny County, Pennsylvania Concrete Deck Arch, Stationary 0 By: Unknown

This is an attractive arch bridge whose deck has fallen apart and today is abandoned in a park setting. It could be an attractive part of the park, and an important pedestrian connector for the park, but a lack of proper maintenance of this bridge has not only resulted in what will likely be the demolition and loss of a historic structure, but the loss of a once-functional structure as well. The bridge has some attractive architectural treatment on it, including details on the abutments and the arch faces.
