This photo shows the actual mills in operation in the 1890s. It is hard to see because trees are in the way, but the bridge is visible in front of the mill.
These historic photos show the extent of the tornado damage to the bridge. The tornado hit in 1918. As you can see in the photo, the damage to the bridge was severe. The East Delhi Bridge is truly a survivor! I am amazed that the bridge was even repaired!

This 1930s photo, from Nicholas Marsh who wrote a history book on the Village of Delhi Mills, shows the bridge with its missing plaque. My guess is that the missing plaque was lost during the tornado. The cobblestone abutments which are today covered with concrete, are clearly visible in this photo.
