This overview photo shows Delhi Mills Village as it was in the 1890s.
This photo shows the actual mills in operation in the 1890s. It is hard to see because trees are in the way, but the bridge is visible in front of the mill.
These historic photos show the extent of the tornado damage to the bridge. The tornado hit in 1918. As you can see in the photo, the damage to the bridge was severe. The East Delhi Bridge is truly a survivor! I am amazed that the bridge was even repaired!
You can see the plaque still proudly holding onto the portal in this closer view of the above photo.
This historic photo shows an overview of the area where the tornado hit. You can see the bridge's abutments in this photo.
This photo is from the 1890-1903 from before the mill was close, which shows that this bridge is truly over a century old. You can see the bridge's plaque in this photo.
A close-up shot of the above photo.
This 1930s photo, from Nicholas Marsh who wrote a history book on the Village of Delhi Mills, shows the bridge with its missing plaque. My guess is that the missing plaque was lost during the tornado. The cobblestone abutments which are today covered with concrete, are clearly visible in this photo.
