Photos: Grand Haven Swing Bridge

Video Available!

Video of this bridge going from the open to the closed position is available! It is in Windows Media Video (WMV) format, which means if you have a reasonably recent version of Windows Media Player, you should be able to play these videos. I recomend saving these to your hard drive so you can enjoy them offline. You might have to right-click and select "Save Target As" to do this. There are two video compressions, a lower quality 4mb file, and a larger 11mb file. The smaller one is for the benefit of modem users who might not feel like waiting for the larger file to download. The larger one is quite a bit clearer however.

More of these photos are available, as they also include photos of the technical details of the bridge, as well as additional overview angles. The full/wallpaper sized images are available in this section for those who do not wish to wait for the longer download times. To jump right to the standard-sized photo selection, click here.

A truck drives across the railroad bridge. Looks a bit goofy, but if you hang around railroads long enough I am sure you too will see these maintaince vehicles that have a set of rail wheels to go along with the rubber tires.

Although this bridge remains open in the summer at all times unless it is in use, there was actually a boat waiting to get through.
