Somehow, I don't think this would have looked so cool with a modern slab of concrete going across. Historic value aside, I feel this bridge should be preserved on aesthetics alone.

View from US-62. Anyone who is on the well-traveled US-62 can get this astonishing view of the bridge and river. Again, I doubt that this would be as picturesque with a modern bridge, but maybe I am full of it. Dark and rainy day combined to make it look like a dream or a ghost bridge. That is all this bridge will be soon.

See? People are capable of applying their brakes and waiting for a car to cross the bridge. Guess we don't need a two-lane bridge after all! You could put up a stoplight to help control traffic though if you wanted. But neither of these things will happen, because PennDOT likes destroying things.

This simple zoomed picture of sway bracing really appeals to me. You don't get a wall of trees behind the sway bracing pictures in Michigan. This was one big river valley!
