There is no doubt that this is one of the most unusual bridges around. The only thing I know for certain is that the main span of this bridge is a deck truss, and the approaches are deck plate girders. The supports for the bridge are trussed. Some connections on the bridge are riveted and others are pin connected. The bridge's main span stands on stone supports. Some members are v-laced, other are latticed. There are eye bar members, rod members, and plate girders. This is a lot for an amateur bridge person like myself to wonder about on this bridge.

The main span of this bridge has features that make it look like it could be a lenticular truss. The fact that the bottom chord is a series of pin connected eye bars that bow out in the opposite direction as the top chord, which is a series of truss beams connected with pins. Compare this to the structure of the Smithfield Street Bridge in Pittsburgh. Based on these facts alone, it appears to indeed be a lenticular deck truss. If this is true however, the bridge should be nationally significant, and be getting a lot more attention than it is currently receiving.

This bridge is used as part of a pedestrian trail, and is no longer used by the railroad. Although the deck has been converted to a walkway, the actual bridge structure remains rusted and has not been painted or repaired at all since the railroad abandoned it.
