Maumee River |
This is a two span pin connected Pratt through truss. Each span is composed of eight panels. The bridge carries one set of railroad tracks across the Maumee River, and is the first railroad bridge to cross the Maumee River after the St. Marys and the St. Joseph River meet in Fort Wayne to form the river. The bridge features v-lacing on its vertical members, and lattice under the top chord. This bridge is an interesting comparison to the Lowell Railroad Bridge in Michigan, as both are pin connected through truss bridges. The Lowell Road Bridge looked to be a bit less massive than this bridge.
