Southeastern Michigan has a fair number of railroad truss bridges, and most have riveted connections. Over in western Michigan I am turning up more railroad bridges with pinned connections, this being one. This is a two span pin connected Pratt through truss bridge. V-lacing is on the verticals, and under the upper chord. The sway bracing is latticed. The bridge carried one set of tracks. The railroad it once carried is gone, and the bridge has been redone for pedestrian use. I say redone instead of restored, because I was not overly pleased with the repair job. The railings they put on the bridge are most ugly, and they obstruct the view of the bridge. The paint did not look redone either, and was that classic railroad black, which really isn't all that attractive. On the other hand, it is good that the bridge has been saved and is being used for something rather than being abandoned or demolished.
