This is an eight panel Parker through truss with riveted connections. It features lattice under the top chord and v-lacing on vertical members. Portal bracing is an a-frame design. Jones and Laughlin steel stampings are visible on the structure. The deck is corrugated steel with asphalt on top. Original railings do not remain on the bridge and have been replaced with double-Armco guardrails. These modifications are overshadowed by the beauty of the arched shape produced by the polygonal top chord. The bridge could go for a fresh coat of paint, but is in otherwise good condition. I hope Huntington County continues to maintain this bridge for future generations to enjoy. Although it has two other Parker trusses, each is different and unique in appearance. Parker trusses are also quite rare in other places, such as Michigan, or the rest of this region in Indiana, and so the regional significance of such bridges must be considered.
