Most of the railroad lines in far western U.P. Michigan and this area of northern Wisconsin are abandoned, as remnants from when iron was being mined in the area. This bridge however is on one of the rail lines that does remain active. Serving its original purpose with no major alterations, this through plate girder retains excellent historic integrity.
