Key Facts
Bridge Name Facility Carried / Feature Intersected Location Structure Type Construction Date / Builder or Contractor
Old WV-2 Bridge Old WV-2 Over Dry Run Rural: Wetzel County, West Virginia Concrete Deck Arch, Stationary 1916 By: Wetzel Engineering Company

This is a small, but complete example of a West Virginia standard plan concrete arch bridge. The attractive structure features concrete railings with rectangle outlines inset into them. The railings flair out at the ends for additional aesthetic appeal. Despite some cracking at one end of the arch, the bridge is in overall excellent condition.

The current WV-2 Bridge over Dry Run is not noteworthy, but it is old, perhaps dating to the 1940s. Thus, it is likely that this arch bridge has not been used since then.
