Pond Creek Private Bridge Private Trail Over Pond Creek Rural: Wood County, West Virginia Metal Pinned Pratt Half-Hip Pony Truss, Stationary 0 By: Unknown

This bridge appears to have been relocated off of a public highway crossing. Modern Armco guardrail mounts are present on the bridge. The guardrails that might have been on those mounts have been reused for the approach ramp on one side of this bridge. They look a lot nicer on a ramp than on a historic bridge! The original historic railings appear to be long-gone. The bridge sits on home-made caissons made from metal drums. There is a massive alteration to this bridge, and that is the complete replacement of three verticals. It is unclear when these were replaced. It may be the result of vehicular damage that required their replacement. Perhaps the vehicular crash was what caused this bridge to be replaced and then move onto someone's private property.
