This bridge is an excellent historic structure to document. As a standard plan stringer bridge with excellent historic integrity, it is a excellent bridge to represent what many of West Virginia's 1930s era steel string bridges look like. In addition, the structure has individual significance. With intact plaques that list the bridge as being a project funded from the Public Works Administration, the bridge is thus important for being a documented bridge that is associated with Depression-era programs. In addition, the fairly decent sized bridge is significant for its three span size, and also its excellent historic integrity, including original railings which are in good condition. Finally, the bridge is uncommon because it is a quite visibly curved structure. This is apparent both from the portal view and from beside the bridge. Curved bridges represented a greater engineering challenge, and are thus more significant. Although stringer bridges are in general technically undistinguished, this bridge stands out among the crowd as more significant than the average steel stringer bridge.
